Ian Colcord is a Director of Seagars.
Ian graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Property Administration degree in 1989 and has been a registered valuer since 6 December 1992. He became an associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers on 12 December 1996, a senior member of the Property Institute of New Zealand on 1 January 2000 and in 2015 was awarded a Fellowship to both Institutes. In 2014 Ian became a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Ian has been employed by Seagars since graduating and his experience has encompassed a wide range of valuation and property advisory work including residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the Auckland region.
His valuation and advisory work has included valuing commercial and industrial property in most areas of Auckland and his day to day work is based mainly around the fringe city commercial / industrial markets whilst managing a team of registered valuers and graduates.
Ian has appeared as an expert valuer including the preparation of expert evidence on real estate and valuation issues in the District Court and both the Auckland and Wellington High Courts, together with the Land Valuation Tribunal. He has advised on compensation issues under the Public Works and is frequently employed to act as an expert valuer.
