Ken Stevenson

QSM, FPINZ, FNZIV

Ken Stevenson graduated with a Diploma in Valuation and Farm Management from Lincoln College in 1968. In 1973 he joined the Valuation Department and worked in both the Whangarei and Auckland offices, during which time he obtained the Valuation Institute’s urban qualification. He was registered in 1974 and advanced to Associate status in 1975.

In the early 1970’s, Ken was employed by Dalgety in their Whangarei office and involved in farm finance and budgeting, valuation, real estate and administration. In 1978 he joined Don Guy and established the practice of Guy Stevenson & Petherbridge, which in 2007 amalgamated with Seagar & Partners Botany. Ken’s specialist areas of valuation include commercial, industrial, rural/residential and development land. He has broad experience in assessments for compensation purposes and has acted as arbitrator/umpire on disputes in forestry rentals and industrial/commercial property. He gained experience on Maori land issues and in the 1990’s, chaired an Institute of Valuers Conference at Massey Albany Campus and Bastion Point.

Ken is a past chairman of the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, is a Fellow of both NZIV and the New Zealand Property Institute and for the last twelve years, has been a member of the Auckland Land Valuation Tribunal. He is also a member of the Real Estate Institute.
