Ian McGowan is a Director of the valuation practice of Seagar & Partners, Auckland. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Valuation and property management) from Lincoln University completed in 1983. He was registered as a practising valuer in 1987 and was granted associate status to the NZIV in 1988.
He joined the practice of Seagar & Partners in 1985, having worked for just under 1 year for the Valuation Department of the Auckland City Council.
He has had an extensive involvement with all types of commercial, industrial and residential valuation assignments, rent reviews, consultancy, along with representing clients in Arbitrations.
For an approximate 12 month period during 1989-90 he was employed by the Sydney office of Jones Lang Wootton, International Property Consultants, as a Senior Valuer overseeing a small team and involved primarily in CBD commercial valuations.
In 1990 he rejoined Seagar & Partners and at present is involved primarily in CBD and fringe CBD Commercial, Industrial and Residential Apartment Project Valuations. He has had an extensive involvement in the CBD apartment market and has been retained exclusively by banks and developers in connection with larger project valuations, and general consultancy advice.
