Ian Colcord

Ian Colcord is a Director of Seagar & Partners (Auckland) Limited, Registered Valuers and Property Consultants.  Ian graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Property Administration degree in 1989 and has been a registered valuer since 6 December 1992.  He became an associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers on 12 December 1996 and a senior member of the Property Institute of New Zealand on 1 January 2000. 

Ian has been employed by Seagar & Partners (Auckland) Limited since graduating and his experience over the past 23 years has encompassed a wide range of valuation and property advisory work including residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the Auckland region. 

Ian has considerable experience in the valuation of industrial and commercial property throughout Auckland and has wide experience in a range of commercial valuation issues and leads an experienced team of commercial valuers.   He has a particular interest in the valuation of medical centres including specialist clinics and A&M facilities across Auckland.

He has specialised also in the valuation of residential block land for subdivision and in this regard has consulted to Fletcher Residential and the ARC over some years.  Ian oversees all residential valuation work in the Auckland office of Seagar & Partners, particularly the North Shore market.

Ian has appeared as an expert valuer including the preparation of expert evidence on real estate and valuation issues in both the High Court and the District Court in Auckland, together with the Land Valuation Tribunal.  He also assists in rental arbitrations when required in the capacity as an expert valuer.

He has advised on compensation issues under the Public Works Act and has carried out valuations specifically in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

In 2010 Ian was appointed as the Auckland branch convenor for membership for the Property Institute of New Zealand.
